This Gilbert American Flyer Air Chime Whistle control comes in its original Blue Box (which is not in pristine condition and is missing a cover on one side). This item has a Push Button Console with Air Chime Insert that sits on top. There are multicolored hookup wires underneath the control box for connecting the air chime whistle control to a power transformer as well as the tracks. The box says 3/16″ Scale. This is commonly referred to as “S” scale. This item is Untested by me (the seller) and its history is unknown. It appears to be in very good shape.
If this item came with original instructions, they have not been found. However, it appears that the previous owner tore an article from a magazine that reported how to connect this and similar items to the Gilbert American Flyer transformer and tracks. That article also indicates how to operate the whistle. Even though I photographed the paper, the time between when it was photographed and when the photos were added to this listing is over a year, and the item is stored elsewhere as I update this listings description and add its photos. I do not remember if the last time I displayed this item for sale at a train show, if the photographed instructions article was present in the box. So, it is possible that the instructions article may not physically get shipped or delivered with this item. Unless you are very familiar with this item, it is suggested that you copy and/or print a copy of the photographed instructions. They are clear enough to be able to read how to connect and operate this item. I read the photographed article today and the 15 Volts item specific information was obtained from that article. Also, the need for a 690 Track Terminal Clip was derived from that article. I have 2 track terminal power clips that I have listed separately at the same time that I am updating this listing. The photographed instructions suggest that this whistle should be connected the train transformer and to a track power clip (which at the time of this listing, is available separately from ShowMyHobby in another listing).
