Brush cleaned, Tested, and Repaired car on 2/16/2023. Car had something floating around inside. I opened it and discovered a nut had come off. Closer inspection revealed missing power-pickup spring and coupler tension spring on 1 coupler. Also found 1 wheelset to be improperly reversed which would have caused a short when this caboose was placed on the tracks. So, I made a power-pick-up spring from 1 of 2 longer springs found in a new, unused passenger power-pickup kit. I reversed the couplers because the one without a spring was in the front of the caboose and was tilted at an improper angle. I moved the coupler from the back to the front and also extended it to the outer hole for fear the hole the previous coupler was in was bent inside the shaft. Corrected the improper wheel arrangement. The car works as it should now. $40 in 1999 from American Models. Priced at $59.95 on AmericanModels.com on 2/15/2023.
