You can assemble your very own 50′ boxcar using this Athearn Blue Box kit.  This KIT is MISSING some vital parts such as: floor frame, accessories package including wheels, trucks, screws, coupler box covers, couplers, and brake wheel.   One good thing though is that this shell and doors will fit on top of frames in other kits that I have listed at the time when I listed this one.  So if you like this shell over another shell, purchase another kit too and swap the shells.  This kit includes a fully molded brown shell with crisp light white lettering.  The roadname is Nickel Plate Road (NKP).  The box car simulates a steel shell with simulated metal roof walk.  Please look at the pictures carefully to see all the items included inside the box of this kit.  It DOES NOT contain the normal small envelope with vital parts to complete the model.  It is clear that the shell, doors and weight are still new.  It is uncertain what happened to the additional parts belonging to this car.  It is being sold as received by the consignor.  It has been opened, examined and pictured.  This will be a challenge for someone to build a complete car.  But one can be creative and come up with all sorts of ways to include this in a layout.  For instance, one could put it in a workshop showing that the car is being manufactured or worked on.  The shell could be carried on a flatcar as a load.  As I mentioned, one could come up with all sorts of ways to use the kit as is or purchase and fabricate the missing parts as needed.  For that reason, this train car is being AUCTIONED instead of being sold as a Buy It Now.  No painting is required, but you may wish to weather it to your liking.
